In Kuttanad we go to visit one of three industrial agricultural co-operatives created there in 1975. They have been based on the earths belonging to a family of the large landowner, during realisation of the law on land reform in Kerala. While it is the first sprouts new. Industrial cooperation in the Indian village it is not spent. Efforts for creation of credit and snabzhenchesko-marketing co-operative societies are undertaken only. And more often they are under the control of rich peasants-fists. And still co-operative societies play the big role in those difficult processes which occur in the Indian village. Creation of the first production co-operatives in Kerala-it experiment which became possible in special conditions of carrying out of land reforms in this staff. We would like to look, as experience which can lay in due time a way for development of all Indian village is put into practice.
And here we come nearer to the co-operative society earths. At the edge of water, in a shade of coconut palm trees, we see a small small house under a red tile. To us suggest to make here the first stop. The elderly woman whom call Sarodzhini, it - mother of three adult sons and the married daughter meets us. For a long time already has become a widow/widower, and it was difficult to lift to it one a family. They have constructed in due time the house on the earth of the landowner and entirely depended on its will and whims. But two years ago voe has changed. They have received from ground tribunal in the property a site on which there is a house, began to reap a crop from eight palm trees, before belonging to the landowner. It gives to them to 600 rupees of the income a year. Her sons work as collectors of nuts and juice of coconut palm trees from whom the vitamin-rich intoxicated drink toddi is produced, reminding ours brazhku. Still more recently their earnings made three-four rupees a day. Now, after an adoption of law about increase of a minimum of the salary by agricultural worker, they receive in day on seven rupees. Nowadays nothing threatens family Sarodzhini. Nobody can drive it from a site, deprive of habitation. Sons are provided by work. There are small savings. And in a year-other it is going to marry the children.
