All has begun that in 1973 the landowner, having refused to satisfy the requirement of agricultural workers about salary increase, has stopped processing of the earths. Then the government of Incorporated front took these earths under the control and has charged to ground department to organise their processing. In search of production efficiency increase in 1975 on these earths it has been decided to create as experiment three production co-operatives, the first in Kerala. To each worker it has been allocated on one acre of the earth and the loan for share entering is given out storupievaja. So this co-operative society was born. It unites 600 members and has 675 acres of the earth.

Now to everyone it is clear - experience has gone right. The co-operative society grows up the fourth crop of rice, and with each new crop gathering of grain and, accordingly, incomes grow. It has allowed to increase a payment to members of co-operative society from seven to nine rupees for men and from five to six and a half for women. Besides, already since the first crop to each worker have paid the award in kind on 15 kg of rice, and from an aftercrop - on 75 kg.

We learn, that the co-operative society receives twice more rice from the same areas which were processed earlier by the landowner. In what the reason? According to interlocutors, first of all in personal interest of members of co-operative society. They work much better, than on the landowner. The considerable role is played also by improvement agricultural technicians. For crops here use only high-quality seeds. It is more applied chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Recently the co-operative society has bought a tractor and has updated stock. With it it was helped by co-operative bank. Heads of co-operative society do not have doubts that the got experience and created accumulation will allow to achieve in the future still the best results.

After conversation with the chairman and members of board I have got to talking with a member of co-operative society Peppi. To it 68 years, but look it much more youngly, is full of energy and optimism.

- You ask, in what the main change in our life? I will tell about myself, - he speaks. - now I began to feel the person. I do not depend on an arbitrariness of the landowner. It is provided today and I know, that tomorrow it will be better. From it the good mood, appears desire to work. For the first time in my long life I work on myself.
